Santiago de Okola is a traditional fishing and farming community on the shore of Lake Titicaca, about three hours from the city of La Paz in Bolivia. It is an ideal place for community tourism, as its inhabitants are very friendly and they open the doors of their houses for hosting visitors and sharing about their customs and their ways of life. The stunning backdrop of Santiago de Okola is the mountain known as the Sleeping Dragon. The views from the top of the Dragon are spectacular and it is possible to see the Island of the Sun, the Cordillera Real and Peru from atop the dragon's mighty head. This incredible landscape is about 2.5 hours from La Paz via highway and 1.5 hours from the Island of the Sun in ferry. Please come visit us, we are looking forward to meeting you!
